Beraca Community Development Corporation (BCDC) was established in 2001 to be an extension Beraca Baptist Church with the purpose of reaching deeper into the community to serve their needs.

BCDC’s mission statement is Rebuilding Repairing and Restoring Lives and Communities.

It stems from the scripture found in Isaiah 58:12 Your people will Rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

BCDC’s accomplishes its mission in many ways by serving communities in the United States and in Haiti.

Our focus is on the youth and the underprivileged. With our Youth’s PASS Development program (Personal, Academic, Social and Spiritual), we have touched the community through our annual beautification projects which includes our youths partnership with: the sanitation dept., the 69th precinct, community leaders and merchants working side by side with our youths to keep Canarsie clean. BCDC provides sports in the form of basketball and volleyball to keep our youths active and off the streets. Working with local banks and other institutions BCDC provides workshops on financial management which includes spending saving and investing; how to recognize bullying and gang violence. We provided scholarship seminars and workshop along with back to school preparation.

Food Pantry

For the past seven years BCDC serves the community of Canrsie and beyond with our food pantry We feed hundreds of families every month. We provide supplemental nutrition for individuals and families who are trying to make ends meet.

On January 2010 after the earthquake in Haiti, BCDC open an office in Leogane Haiti to help rebuild, repair, and restore the city that was hit the hardest. Using the PEACE Plan’s holistic approach, we are able to address the problems that plague Haiti as well as every underdeveloped country.

The common problems in underdeveloped countries are spiritual emptiness, selfish leaders, extreme poverty, pandemic diseases, and rampant illiteracy.

PEACE Plan stands for:

P = Promote Reconciliation: Reconciling individuals with each other and to God by planting churches.

E = Equip Servant Leaders. BCDC is training over 1,600 leaders in Leogane, Jeremie, and in Cape Haitian, helping to develop character and moral ethics.

A = Assist the Poor by creating jobs. BCDC created a motorcycle taxi business program that has employed over 50 individuals and a micro-loan program that helped over 200 women

C= Care for the Sick. BCDC conducts medical clinics for those who are marginalized, underprivileged, and underserved.

E = Educate the next generation.  BCDC is equipping teachers to provide world-class education for their students.

Our programs are currently transforming communities in Leogane and Jeremie. Also, opportunities are opening up in Les Cayes, Port Salut, and Jacmel. Whether its in the US or in Haiti, BCDC is rebuilding, repairing, and restoring lives and transforming communities.
