PROMOTE RECONCILIATION
.
Why plant churches? Here are seven reasons why churches are the most effective grassroots way to transform communities spiritually, socially, economically etc.
1. Widest Distribution: It has been used to distribute information, medicine and funding more effective than any government or private agency.
2. Largest Participation = It can mobilize the largest group of people in the shortest period of time.
3. Longest Continuation = The Church has been around for over 2000 years and is still going strong.
4. Greatest Credibility = It is still viewed as the most credible institution. It has the trust of the community especially during a crisis.
5. Simplest Administration = Very little bureaucracy. In most churches the pastor and small group of leaders meet, decide and act.
6. Fastest Expansion = www.globalmedia outreach.com
7. Highest Motivation = Love for God
PLANT CHURCHES
EDUCATE THE NEXT GENERATION
Education is a key component to turning a country around. However, the students are only as good as their teachers. If their teachers are not equipped then the students will fail. BCDC’s goal is not to build more school but to help the existing schools teach effectively by training and equipping the teachers. Working with over 1000 churches who oversee hundreds of schools we have an opportunity to transform several regions in the country. By using certified teachers in the United States to train teachers and principals in Haiti using a unified system is a quick and efficient way to turn schools around and impact the lives of our youngest citizens.
ASSIST THE POOR
JOB CREATION
MOTORCYCLE & MINIBUS TAXI SERVICE
MICRO LOANS
Motorcycle & Minibus Taxi Service Creating jobs assists the poor by allowing them to become independent, self-sufficient and self-sustaining. BCDC started a motorcycle taxi transportation business has been the rave of the community. First, the recipients are recommended by a pastor and or community leaders, then they are vetted and finally they receive a brand new motorcycle. The recipients begin working immediately to pay off the motorcycle. After one year when the motorcycle is paid off, the recipient keeps the motorcycle and BCDC purchases another one and begins the cycle over again. Our latest addition is a minibus; it furthers our commitment to creating jobs.
BCDC provides over 500 micro-loans to women in the community. They are encouraged to expand their businesses and hire employees who after a period of six months to a year are qualified for a micro loan to start their own business. BCDC also created a Municipal Credit Union where customers and employees are able to save the money they have earned.
